Biography:
Developing a clinical aquatic animal health program for the veterinary school including: imaging such as radiology, CT, MRI, and ultrasound; diagnostic testing using microbiology, hematology, chemistry, virology, histopathology, and molecular diagnostics; koi herpes virus testing for diagnostics, screening and research; environmental quality testing; consulting in best health practices, offering contract services to retailers, wholesalers and farms in guidelines with the California Pet Store Animal Care Act; health inspections; educational programs for hobbyists and veterinary continuing education; and clinical research for captive, laboratory, and wild fish populations. Interest and experience with aquaculture species, zoological and aquarium collections, companion exotic animals, marine animal rehabilitation, and conservation medicine. Special interest in the immune response of fish, reptiles, and amphibians to infectious disease.
